Welcome to our page! My name is Steph and I am the proud founder of Freestone Flora, a wildflower farm located in central Gippsland, Victoria. We are dedicated to growing spray-free Australian wildflowers that are not only beautiful but also environmentally sustainable.

My passion for the environment started at a young age and led me to pursue a degree in Environmental Science at Uni. After spending 15 years in various environmental and fire management roles, COVID-19 and the birth of my daughter prompted me to seek a more flexible lifestyle that allowed me to focus on my family and feed my creative soul.

We purchased our forever home at the end of 2019, we immediately fell in love with the mountain views, ancient Redgums, native gardens and abundant wildlife. The property was also once used as a plant nursery and still had much of the infrastructure intact, albeit a little run down. We couldn't imagine a property more suited to us!

Freestone Flora was born from a simple comment my partner Tom made one day, when he suggested I start selling fresh flowers seeming as though I spend everyday in the garden!
In that instant we decided to revitalize the old nursery on our 6-acre property, into a wildflower farm.

I immediately knew I wanted Freestone Flora to focus on native flowers-they have been a big passion of mine for many years and natives made a lot of sense with the climate we live in. In addition to native wildflowers we grow some specialty non-native crops suitable to our local climate which compliment our native species beautifully.

I am a firm believer that flowers have the power to brighten up anyone's day, being able to bring a smile to the face of those around us is a dream come true. Thank you for taking the time to read about our story, and we hope to have the opportunity to share our flowers with you soon.

Our Values

Environmental responsibility is one of our core values. We believe that it is our responsibility to take care of the environment around us and we strive to implement basic principles that not only reduce our impact but also improve biodiversity in our local area. As a pesticide free farm, we are committed to growing our flowers without any harmful chemicals. We believe in the importance of supporting our local ecosystem, which is why we have implemented strategies such as installing native bee hotels, nest boxes and water sources for local wildlife.

The 'slow flower' movement is a growing trend we are proud to be a part of.

In addition, we also source environmentally friendly packaging for our online shop to ensure that our customers can compost or reuse whatever they receive in the mail. We are proud of our efforts to reduce our environmental impact and we will continue to find ways to support and protect our local environment.

We are passionate about providing the freshest, highest quality fresh and dried flowers to our local area. We take pride in showcasing the incredible beauty of Australian native flowers, and cottage flowers which hold a special place in our hearts.

Whether it's through a beautiful bouquet, wildflowers for your event, a wreath to admire, or a flower crown for a special event, we take pride in supplying to our community and bringing joy into someones day.

Where to find our fresh bunches

We operate from early Spring-Late Autumn, Sales each week are dependent on stock availability. We sell fresh and dried flower bunches, posy jars and various other crafted products from our roadside stall at 56 Briagolong-Stockdale Rd, Briagolong. Our stall is open Fridays-Sundays. If we have excess stock we will occasionally sell through local vendors, please follow our socials for weekly updates on sale locations. Orders can be arranged Monday-Friday by contacting us 48hr prior to your required pick up time. Unfortunately we are not in a position to offer deliveries on orders with the exception of deliveries within Briagolong.
